Final Website Concept | Site map | Storyboard | Prototypes

Original Splash Page - (NOT USED IN THE SITE - I wanted all of the pages to be made with Flash rather than Image Ready in order to keep consitency.

Homepage - also includes new splash page, and enter page

Site map - Image ready animation, image mapping with alt tags, and slicing were used on this page (alt tags are not appearing on some browsers)

Profile page

Experience page

Susie experience page - This page will no longer be included in the site.

Susie "Study Date?" Experience page - this page is a revision since our last class. It was redundant to have the experience page, then a separate experience page for each character. Instead, the main experience page sends you to specific stories such as this one.

Concept: Shockwave Magazine

This site is needed to help teenagers[who it’s for] gain a Biblical worldview for life’s experiences[what they’ll take away] through a variety of columns/articles of subject matter touching aspects of life ranging from music reviews to making some of life’s difficult decisions based on true stories.

The web is an ideal medium to do this because teenagers spend a great deal of time on the internet every day. It’s a non-threatening environment where they can spend as little or as much time as they like at the site, and are welcome to return whenever they want.

Most teens have access to newer computers, so higher resolution as well as a lot of “bells and whistles” are technically appropriate. Teens usually like this type of current media.

It will be important that the viewer has confidence that the information they find on the site will help them in their “real” world. To assist this confidence, I will include images that teens associate with learning, common teen interests, and a secure environment. Also, I will select character images that relate to a broad ethnic and social scope of teens.

Articles/Stories will include four categories.

Spirit : stories where something spiritual made a definite positive impact on someone’s life; spiritual growth things; prayer; salvation; etc.

Soul : attitude towards friends or family; being swayed by emotions; wrong relationships, etc.

Body : Eating issues; staying healthy; people that got unhealthy; how drugs or alcohol affected someone’s body; exercise choices; HIV or sexually transmitted diseases; etc.

Becoming : (finding your ‘calling’ in life): Going with the desires God put in your heart or not; character issues; study habits; financial planning issues; making larger decisions that will affect your future in a big way.

Also, I will be creating profiles of each of these characters answering:

Who I am…Who I like…What I like…Who I want to be…

Example Story: Susie (an oriental girl) will go through an experience (that is based on a real experience that actually happened to someone) and the user will choose how Susie will react to that experience (via an action, or something she says, etc). The result will bring the user to another web page with the choice’s outcome.

Interactivity – the message may stick longer if the visitor has to take some action to access it. The organization of the information will involve depth more than breadth in order give a sense of seeking and discovery of the information.
